Ohrid driving directions
Ohrid has a road link since the 1980s. The E-65 road is passing by Ohrid and connects with the nearby Resen (35 km) and Bitola (56 km) on the east and with Kicevo (61 km), Gostivar (107 km), Tetovo (132 km) and Skopje (174 km). Sveti Naum border on the south (28 km). Some 9 km north of the town is the intersection for Struga (15 km) on the E-852 road to the Kjafasan border.
Ohrid also has an international airport: Saint Paul the Apostle (IATA: OHD) about 9 km from city center which connects Ohrid with Belgrade, Ljubljana, Zurich, Dusseldorf, Tel Aviv, Vienna, and Amsterdam. The airport is open year round but most airlines only fly during the summer, so check with your travel agent or airline for most current information.
If you arrive in the airport, public transportation into the town is basically non-existent, so pre-arrange a hotel pick-up or prepare to haggle with a cab driver (in town, however, cab rides are metered and much more reliable).
There is a regular bus service from Bitola and Skopje. The bus from Skopje takes approximately four hours, but have in mind that sometimes can take even more.
Taxis are available through Ohrid and can be found almost at every corner, 24 hours a day. Transport in Ohrid is inexpensive and covers all areas of the city, including wider surroundings.
Taxi drivers may try charge tourists higher rates, so insist on a set price.
