Struga driving directions

Arriving & departing in Struga

Struga is connected with the border Kjafasan (13 km) using the E-852 road on the west and the junction with the E-65 international road is 7 km from the town in the east, and connects this small town with Ohrid (15 km) and Skopje (174 km).

Struga is small and easiest to get around is by walking. To visit the cave churches on the west coast of Ohrid lake take a taxi or check out the bus schedule. A 15 minutes walk along the lake will take you to Kalishta village and cave monastery.

Struga by plane

Struga is served by the Ohrid airport: "St Paul the Apostle" (IATA: OHD), that is only 7-8 km from city center which connects Struga and Ohrid with Belgrade, Ljubljana, Zurich, Dusseldorf, Tel Aviv, Vienna, and Amsterdam. The airport is open year round but most airlines only fly during the summer, so check with your travel agent or airline for most current information.

If you arrive in the airport, public transportation into the capital is basically non-existent, so pre-arrange a hotel pick-up or prepare to haggle with a cab driver (in town, however, cab rides are metered and much more reliable).

Struga by bus

Buses to Skopje, Tetovo, Gostivar, Kicevo, Ohrid and Bitola are easy to find (1-2 hours usually).

There are also international bus lines to Pristina and Istanbul.

Struga taxi transport

Taxis are available throughout the city and can be found almost at every corner, 24 hours a day. Taxi in Struga is very cheap.
