The well known Zare Lazarevski (or Mavrovo) ski resort is in the region of Mavrovo. The ski-lifts and chairlifts were began to be built in 1964, by the ideas of Zare Lazarevski. There are 2 double chair-lifts, 1 single as well as 11 ski-lifts. The double chair-lifts end at an altitude of 1,610 meters above the sea level, the single at 1,400 meters, while the ski-lifts starts from above. The resort is situated under the highest peak of Bistra mountain, Medenica 2,160 meters.

The Bistra mountain provides great oportunity for the lovers of alternative tourism & sports. The ski slopes & tracks in Mavrovo, during the spring & summer period are excellent for this. If coming, try heading to Galicnik & vice versa.
